Since 1994, IRCV has served as a Content Reviewer on world history textbook programs developed by the major K-12 textbook publishers (Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt Brace, Macmillan McGraw-Hill, Holt Rinehart and Winston, among others). Publishers appreciate our expertise in teaching about religion and our familiarity with recent scholarship pertaining to various world regions.
Among the numerous books reviewed by IRCV are Houghton Mifflin’s Across the Centuries (1991, 1999), Harcourt Brace’s Our World’s Story (1997), and Holt, Rinehart and Winston’s World History: Medieval to Early Modern Times (2006). Our reviews have helped improve the coverage and framing of complex topics in ways that are age-appropriate and standards-compliant.
